Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to kelly@tunedintohealing.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Biofield Tuning works through the aether—a subtle, non-physical medium that connects all things. In a distance session, the practitioner “tunes in” to your energy field using intention and sound, much like tuning into a radio frequency. The vibrations from the tuning fork interact with your biofield, even across space, helping to locate and shift areas of distortion. This process supports the release of stuck energy and encourages balance, clarity, and flow—regardless of physical distance.

In a remote Biofield Tuning session, there’s nothing you need to do—no shift to push through, no one to take care of. You’re in your own space, able to simply relax and receive. As the session begins, you’ll hear the sound of the tuning fork, and you might start to notice subtle shifts in your body. Tingling, warmth or coolness, a feeling of lightness, even a gurgling stomach—these are signs that stuck energy is beginning to move.

Emotions can rise too—grief, stress, or long-held exhaustion—things your body may finally feel safe enough to let go of. While some sensations or feelings might be unfamiliar or mildly uncomfortable, they usually pass quickly. Often, they just need a way out. As Eileen Day McKusick, the founder of Biofield Tuning, says, “It’s better out than in.” And after holding it all together for so long, even a small release can feel like a deep breath of relief.

For those curious about the science, here’s a research study exploring the effects of remote Biofield Tuning sessions on anxiety symptoms.

Many people notice benefits—such as feeling lighter, calmer, and more balanced—after just one session. However, lasting change often unfolds over a series of sessions. Typically, three sessions spaced 1–2 weeks apart provide a strong foundation for deeper healing. Everyone’s process is unique, and ongoing sessions can continue to support well-being over time.

Some people may experience a “cleansing response” after a Biofield Tuning session. This is a natural part of the healing process as your body releases stored stress and emotional tension. Symptoms usually pass within 1–3 days and may include:

  • Fatigue
  • Emotional waves (crying, anger, sadness)
  • Digestive changes (ex: loose stools)
  • Headaches or dizziness
  • Flu-like symptoms

Less commonly: skin rashes, mucus release, fever, vomiting, or increased thirst.

If anything feels unusually intense or lasts longer than expected, reach out to Kelly— she can help support your system and recommend next steps if needed.

Pregnancy
Pregnancy demands significant energy from the body. Biofield Tuning may overwhelm this already taxed system, potentially impacting both mother and baby.

Acute or Advanced Illness
In cases of acute or serious illness, Biofield Tuning may intensify symptoms or cause strong cleansing reactions. A multi-modal care approach is typically more effective.

Controlled Seizure Disorders
Biofield Tuning may trigger seizures if past activity is located in the field. Ideally, it is best to have someone at home with you, when receiving a distant tuning session.

Recent Concussions
After brain injury, inflammation needs time to subside. Usually waiting at least three months before tuning around the head. Gentle tuning elsewhere around the body may be introduced sooner. Each case is unique, and mild cases may tolerate earlier intervention.

Electrical Medical Implants (e.g., pacemakers, neural implants, Medtronic pumps)
Vibrational input from tuning forks may interfere with electrical devices. While no adverse effects have been reported with newer pacemakers, proceed with caution and medical guidance.

Cancer (Advanced or Active)
For those with active cancer or undergoing treatment, the body’s ability to detox may be reduced, making it harder to process the energetic shifts from Biofield Tuning. This can lead to symptoms the body may struggle to manage. It's best to avoid sessions close to chemotherapy treatments. These cautions don’t apply to those in remission. If you’re unsure, please reach out to Kelly to discuss your specific situation.

End-of-Life Care
At the end of life, the body is often in a depleted energetic state. Biofield Tuning may be overwhelming and trigger uncomfortable cleansing symptoms. However, some components may be used gently to soothe the nervous system and ease transition.

Clients must give a 12-hour notice prior to the session for a full refund.
